About the Role
As an Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in the wholesale grocery industry, contribute to meaningful projects, and understand the operations of a large privately held company. You will network with employees, participate in professional development, and engage in fun activities.
Responsibilities
- Support supply chain operations across the New England/I-91 corridor and Pennsylvania.
- Assist in daily operations and administrative tasks within the assigned department.
- Prepare presentations, reports, and other documentation.
- Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance efficiency.
- Attend meetings, take notes, and contribute ideas.
- Enhance department tools, templates, and methodologies.
- Gain exposure and knowledge on department functionalities.
- Develop professional relationships across departments.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
- Present an end-of-internship summary showcasing learning objectives.
- Support warehouse safety engagement programs, including safety committee meetings, safety blitzes, EHS walks, fatal risk audits, and incident investigations.
- Support warehouse safety regulatory compliance initiatives and IIPP (injury illness prevention program).
- Utilize the Benchmark Gensuite platform for tasks and projects.
- Partner with Warehouse Operations, Field Training, Human Resources, etc. on shared initiatives.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Will have completed Sophomore year by the start of the internship.
- In good academic standing, with a preferred minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Currently majoring in Occupational Health and Safety or related fields.
- Proficient with Google's suite of products preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Possess curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn and contribute.
- Applicants must have work authorization that does not require future visa sponsorship in the US.
