About the Role
This paid internship offers hands-on experience in music publishing through dedicated rotations aligned with your strengths and career interests. You will gain an understanding of how teams connect, how business decisions influence each other, and how we work together to support our songwriters. You will contribute to real work, build relationships, and develop skills for your future career.
Responsibilities
- Participate in real projects and contribute to team success.
- Gain hands-on insight into different areas of music publishing through your chosen pathway.
- Build relationships across departments and learn how we work globally.
- Develop skills in communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and time management.
- Register new musical works with collection societies and set up publishing deals.
- Audit copyright records to resolve work conflicts and handle client rights queries.
- Collaborate on high-impact projects with Global Copyright and Tracking teams.
- Analyze and process royalty statements across various platforms.
- Uncover metadata gaps and track down uncollected income.
- Onboard new songwriters by verifying initial deal records.
- Support the royalties team with financial reporting and account updates.
- Track down missing earnings using industry insights and key metadata.
- Analyze income statements and global usage reports to spot revenue variances.
- Explore music licensing models and identify opportunities to claim uncollected revenue.
- Research and scout unsigned artists, songwriters, producers, and viral trends.
- Organize co-writing sessions, studio bookings, and writing camps.
- Upload, tag, and organize demo submissions and catalogue tracks.
- Prepare scout reports and playlist pitch assets for meetings.
- Assist with meeting coordination.
- Design visual materials, pitch decks, social media assets, and video content.
- Conduct research to support cross-team campaign planning.
- Track campaign metrics and analyze performance.
- Communicate key marketing moments and align creative strategies across teams.
- Curate targeted audio playlists in response to music supervisor briefs.
- Monitor upcoming projects to identify sync opportunities.
- Maintain licensing trackers and conduct catalogue research.
- Support client outreach, clearances, and payment follow-ups.
- Attend live shows, showcases, and industry events.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Genuine interest in music and the business behind it.
- Enjoy working as part of a team and contributing to shared goals.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully.
- Stay organised and pay attention to detail.
- Take initiative, ask questions, and be willing to learn from mistakes.
- Have a broad interest in music, across genres, artists, or how the industry works.
- Comfortable using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail) or willing to learn.
- Ability to design high-quality decks and visual materials using presentation platforms, such as Canva or Google Slides.
- Proactive approach to integrating Generative AI (e.g., Gemini) into everyday work.
