About the Role

The Mentoring and Advocacy Program (MAAP) serves youth involved in, or at risk for involvement in, the criminal or juvenile legal systems. MAAP is a one-on-one, community-based mentoring program focused on supporting youth and their families and connecting youth and families to resources in the community. This position is full-time and requires in-person and in-community work.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support team members in the program, including individual weekly supervision, field work, and case conferences.
  • Conduct team meetings and facilitate discussions on best-practice engagement techniques, shared challenges, and upcoming events.
  • Adhere to policies and protocols set by ACS Preventive Services.
  • Operate Connections and PROMIS databases, managing mentor contacts and opening/closing cases.
  • Receive and assign referrals from ACS referral partners within required preventive timelines.
  • Create a work environment fostering professional development of the MAAP staff.
  • Promote staff development and competence through training, coaching, and structured supervision.
  • Foster a strengths-based, celebratory, and youth-centered team and program culture.
  • Develop strong working relationships with external partners including ACS and Probation.
  • Collaborate with Fair Futures supervisors and team to ensure continued services for MAAP youth.
  • Ensure staff are assigned to and participate in annual training hours for ACS and CASES compliance.
  • Submit required monthly metrics and reporting to ACS in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that administrative and financial procedures are in place.
  • Participate in MAAP team hiring.
  • Help MAAP staff prevent and navigate crises.
  • Participate in professional development trainings.
  • Attend tabling events in evenings and weekends for MAAP program outreach.
  • Work flexible hours when required.
  • Collaborate with the larger ECE department to ensure connection and support identifying resources for participants.
  • Support the use of Rewire training throughout the team and skill building with youth.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.

Requirements

  • MSW required
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time-management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills including confidence in interpreting data and discussing outcomes with stakeholders
  • Lived experience a plus
