About the Role
The Digital and Design Student Assistant will support instructors in Digital Design oriented courses, assisting with in-class and out-of-class sessions.
Responsibilities
- Supports instructors in and out of class sessions.
- Helps with demonstration preparation.
- Maintains a safe, clean, and well-organized studio environment.
- Demonstrates responsible and safe use of digital and analog equipment.
- Performs routine cleaning and maintenance of the Digital Studio.
- Provides general instructional support.
- Assists with inventory management and instructional materials.
- Helps faculty prepare course materials.
- Assists with classroom activities, library research, and image search.
- Respectfully engages with students during class time.
- Potentially mentors students.
- Hosts tutoring sessions outside of class.
- Exhibits reliability, clear communication, and strong attention to studio and equipment safety.
Requirements
- Must be an Art Major, Art Minor, or Graphic Design Minor.
- Must have completed ART 12000 and 22500.
- Must prove strong familiarity with Gannett 129 Digital Lab processes and protocols.
- Preference given to those who have also completed ART 32500 and/or 28000.
- Requires knowledge of cameras and some software skills.
- Requires knowledge of printers, scanners, and software/creative suite.
- Resume and cover letter are advised.
- Must bring original, unexpired, authorized personal identification documents to complete the I-9 form.
