About the Role
This role supports medical students by ensuring they are credentialed and prepared for clinical clerkships at an affiliated hospital site. The coordinator will manage student documentation, orientation, and evaluations, working closely with hospital administration.
Responsibilities
- Process student documents for core and elective rotations.
- Review student health records, including health assessment and immunization records.
- Follow up on outstanding documents required for clerkships.
- Ensure all University students are credentialed to begin clinical clerkships.
- Submit requisite paperwork to hospital coordinators and participating hospitals.
- Provide customer service to clinical students via in-person meetings, phone, or email.
- Utilize Banner, Salesforce, and Medtrics for data entry.
- Assess the accuracy and completeness of Clinical Clerkship Evaluation Forms.
- Prepare and assist with student orientation.
- Assist in proctoring National Medical Board Examinations.
- Prepare and send correspondence to University students.
- Provide feedback on student needs and support the development of solutions.
- Document procedures, instructions, and rules to create operational standards.
- Assist with student documentation and other duties for additional hospitals.
- Assist with the planning and execution of University academic site visits.
- Collaborate with the local GME office on working hour requirements.
- Adhere to pre-employment obligations set by the hospital.
- Complete other projects and duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree is required preferably in education, social science, or a health care related field.
- 2 years prior experience in education or a field related to counseling or customer service.
- Solid computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite, Internet applications, and database software.
- Familiarity with NBME, ECFMG/USMLE guidelines and other pertinent policies and procedures necessary for licensure of international medical graduates (IMGs) is desirable.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and adhere to deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent negotiation, decision making, and time management competence.
- A team player, respectful of others and capable of working well with a wide variety of personalities.
- Ability to travel to various campuses as needed domestically and internationally.
