About the Role
The Director, Finance Technology and Domain Product Management serves as the senior Technology Product Owner for the complete portfolio of applications and technology-enabled services assigned to the Finance Domain. The Director owns the Finance technology strategy, current-state system catalog, multiyear product roadmap, investment portfolio, operating performance, financial plan, vendor ecosystem, controls, and application lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary Technology partner and strategic advisor to Finance leadership.
- Partner with stakeholders across Corporate Finance, FP&A, Accounting, Controllership, Treasury, Tax, Shared Services, Internal Audit, Commercial Finance, and related functions.
- Translate Finance strategy and business needs into product strategies, roadmaps, investment proposals, and execution plans.
- Establish governance and decision rights among the Director, Technology Product Owners, Business Product Owners, program teams, and service partners.
- Balance enterprise standards with regional, statutory, tax, banking, and operational requirements.
- Own the complete inventory of applications, services, vendors, and capabilities assigned to the Finance Domain.
- Maintain the Finance system catalog as the authoritative portfolio record.
- Ensure records accurately reflect business definitions, subdomain assignments, program alignment, lifecycle status, ownership, regional use, cost, investment, contracts, renewals, users, licenses, dependencies, risks, and planned actions.
- Regularly validate portfolio information with Technology leaders and Business Product Owners.
- Resolve incomplete ownership, inconsistent classification, outdated status, and undocumented dependencies.
- Ensure professional services and outsourced Finance services receive the same governance discipline as software products.
- Own the multiyear roadmap for all Finance applications and services.
- Apply structured lifecycle decisions, including retain, retire, refactor, migrate, eliminate, tolerate, and invest.
- Define the target-state Finance architecture and identify strategic-core, adjacent, transitional, redundant, and end-of-life capabilities.
- Establish replacement strategies and confirm how displaced functionality will be provided in the target environment.
- Convert roadmap intentions into scheduled initiatives with clear milestones, owners, dependencies, funding, benefits, and exit criteria.
- Track each product from introduction and investment through operation, optimization, replacement, and controlled retirement.
- Prevent temporary or tolerated applications from remaining in the portfolio without explicit review and approval.
- Lead the Finance technology modernization agenda across EPM, ERP, shared services, automation, reporting, data, tax, compliance, and regional capabilities.
- Direct platform consolidation and eliminate overlapping planning, reporting, workflow, reconciliation, and data-processing capabilities.
- Manage dependencies among target-state platforms, legacy systems, infrastructure changes, and Finance transformation programs.
- Require controlled transition plans, including testing, reconciliation, parallel operation, business readiness, cutover, stabilization, and retirement.
- Promote automation, analytics, workflow, and responsible AI where they produce measurable Finance outcomes.
- Ensure modernization decisions improve business capability and do not merely shift costs or technical complexity.
- Own multiyear cost and investment planning for the Finance technology portfolio.
- Manage actual-versus-budget performance and maintain credible forecasts.
- Develop and challenge business cases, including costs, benefits, risks, dependencies, capacity requirements, and expected value.
- Evaluate total cost of ownership across software, implementation, support, infrastructure, professional services, and internal resources.
- Align P&L and investment funding responsibilities with the appropriate Technology, Finance, Corporate, or business owner.
- Identify opportunities to reduce duplication, unused capacity, avoidable cost, and technical debt.
- Track whether approved investments deliver the committed financial, operational, control, and service outcomes.
- Maintain a forward-looking calendar of renewals, notice periods, termination rights, commercial decisions, and accountable contacts.
- Lead vendor performance reviews and support contract negotiations with Procurement, Legal, Finance, and Technology leadership.
- Evaluate vendors based on strategic fit, service quality, risk, total cost, roadmap alignment, and business value.
- Review user and license counts to optimize subscriptions and reduce underutilized capacity.
- Ensure investment, rationalization, and retirement decisions are coordinated with contractual obligations.
- Govern software vendors, implementation partners, outsourced service providers, and professional-services firms.
- Partner with Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal, and Corporate stakeholders on the strategic review of Revlon’s legal entity structure.
- Assess how legal entities are represented across ERP, EPM, Treasury, tax, reporting, consolidation, master data, integrations, controls, and statutory processes.
- Identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary complexity and redundancy while preserving required business, regulatory, tax, and operational capabilities.
- Develop value-focused business cases that consider process simplification, control improvements, reporting efficiency, system reduction, operating agility, and sustainable cost benefits.
- Define the technology and data changes required to support approved entity consolidations, reorganizations, or operating-model changes.
- Ensure that the initiative is positioned and governed as a value-creation program, not solely as a cost-reduction exercise.
- Ensure Finance applications and services comply with SOX, audit, security, privacy, records-retention, and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with Internal Audit, Cybersecurity, Compliance, and Finance control owners.
- Establish appropriate access, segregation-of-duties, change-management, and operational controls.
- Promote reliable financial data, consistent master data, traceable integrations, and clear data ownership.
- Ensure critical Finance services have documented business continuity, disaster recovery, and support requirements.
- Identify, communicate, and mitigate transition, operational, vendor, contractual, data, and compliance risks.
- Establish service levels, operational metrics, escalation paths, and product-health reporting.
- Ensure reliable support for business-critical Finance processes and financial calendars.
- Lead major incident oversight, root-cause correction, problem management, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor product health, support capacity, technical debt, security exposure, service quality, and vendor performance.
- Ensure that systems scheduled for replacement remain stable and appropriately controlled until retirement is completed.
- Lead and develop Technology Product Owners, application leaders, delivery resources, and strategic partners supporting Finance.
- Set clear expectations for accountability, documentation, stakeholder engagement, and outcome delivery.
- Influence enterprise programs and cross-functional teams in a global matrix environment.
- Provide concise executive reporting on portfolio health, roadmap progress, costs, investments, risks, renewals, benefits, and decisions required.
- Build succession, capability, and resource plans for the Finance Domain.
