About the Role
Our Future Health is seeking a Full-Stack Senior Software Engineer to join the Biosamples squad. This role involves designing, building, and maintaining systems for managing biosamples, operations, and logistics. The squad develops an internal web application, data-processing services, and integrations with lab partners to track samples and ensure chain of custody. Prior experience in biosamples, laboratory, or healthcare is not required; comfort with learning complex domains and collaborating with operational colleagues is key.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and run systems for biosample management, operations, and logistics.
- Develop an internal web application for the Biosamples Operations team.
- Build data-processing services and integrations with lab partners.
- Track and manage samples, maintain chain of custody, and process returned information.
- Handle frontend, backend, and infrastructure in a total ownership model.
- Operate software components post-deployment, including observability, logging, metrics, error reporting, debugging, and live incident management.
Requirements
- Experience working in/with cross-functional teams (engineers, product, UX, non-technical stakeholders).
- Ability to communicate with stakeholders and audiences outside your team.
- Experience working in small, growing organizations with ambiguity and a need for flexibility.
- Strong understanding of software quality principles and practices.
- Comfortable mentoring and coaching less experienced engineers.
- Comfortable participating in and facilitating technical discussions.
- Experience of working with sensitive personal data.
