About the Role
Adyen is seeking a Corporate Counsel, Dispute Resolution to join its global Corporate Legal team. This role involves taking ownership of Adyen’s disputes, advising stakeholders on legal risk, and guiding matters toward resolution. It is crucial for protecting Adyen’s commercial interests, reputation, and sustainable growth, requiring collaboration and strong decision-making in a complex environment.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of Adyen’s disputes end to end, advising the business on commercial outcomes and finding pragmatic solutions to challenges.
- Manage disputes across multiple jurisdictions, applying and coordinating advice under New York, Dutch, and other relevant laws.
- Instruct, oversee, and manage external counsel, ensuring matters stay on strategy, on budget, and move towards resolution.
- Partner with teams across the business to resolve disputes and mitigate escalation.
- Collaborate with the business to close out risk areas and integrate lessons learned into Adyen’s contracts and operations.
- Apply AI actively in work using Adyen's tools to enhance the Dispute Resolution pillar's operations.
- Support the broader Corporate Legal team on projects and initiatives related to corporate governance, corporate development, and cross-functional priorities.
- Stay abreast of global legal developments relevant to Adyen, proactively identifying risks and advising the business on mitigation strategies.
Requirements
- Admitted to practice law in a US jurisdiction.
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Ability to structure and prioritize in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to build, innovate, and drive processes to completion.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
