About the Role
Lead Developers act as the primary point of contact for clients, bringing a strategic mindset to projects and collaborating with clients to realize a technical vision. This role requires a balance of high-level and tactical thinking, involving close work with both clients and teammates.
Responsibilities
- Champion and adopt best practices like writing clean and reusable code using TDD, pair programming, and design patterns.
- Oversee or participate in the entire software consulting and delivery cycle, from ideation to production.
- Use and advocate for continuous delivery practices to deliver high-quality software and value to end customers early.
- Design solutions and select technologies that solve client problems within constraints, making pragmatic tradeoffs.
- Collaborate with teammates to build features, design concepts, and interactive prototypes, embedding best practices and UX specifications.
- Apply the latest technology thinking from the Technology Radar to solve client problems.
- Utilize a variety of languages and tools, continuing to code alongside Developers.
- Efficiently use and champion DevSecOps tools and practices, advocating for DevOps culture and shifting security left.
- Cultivate growth and development by encouraging feedback and fostering an inclusive, supportive team culture.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of full stack experience using Python/Nodejs + React with object-oriented programming experience.
- Experience leading software development teams using Agile, Lean, and/or Continuous delivery approaches.
- Knowledge of delivery approaches such as TDD, continuous integration, pairing, and infrastructure automation.
- Experience influencing others and advocating for technical excellence while remaining open to change.
- Ability to translate business needs into software requirements.
- Ability to develop and execute a technical vision focused on business value.
- Act as a mentor for less experienced peers through technical knowledge and inspiration.
- Resilience in ambiguous situations and ability to approach challenges from multiple perspectives.
