About the Role
This Regional Substitute Camp Counselor position is designed for team members interested in working with Steve & Kate’s Camp on an as-needed basis across their New York region. Regional Substitute Counselors become part of the substitute staff pool and may pick up available shifts based on their availability and camp needs.
Responsibilities
- Actively supervise campers and maintain a safe, welcoming environment
- Engage with campers and support their interests, activities, and play
- Support camp activities, programming, field trips, and daily operations
- Collaborate with camp leadership and other staff members
- Ensure compliance with Camp Policies
- Report and record details of notable concerns, incidents, or injuries
- Keep track of and be aware of camper allergies and dietary restrictions
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Minimum of 2 months of experience working with camp-age children (1 year preferred)
- First Aid & CPR certified prior to first day of work
- Ability to travel to participating Steve & Kate’s Camp locations within the New York region
- Permission to be emailed or texted regarding employment and work opportunities
