About the Role
Axon is seeking a leader to define and build a new product from the ground up, encompassing hardware, software, and cloud. This role is crucial for developing a new portfolio pillar with significant growth potential, reporting directly to the CEO of Axon 911. You will shape product strategy, drive definition and prioritization, and partner across the organization to ensure agency adoption and officer trust in the field.
Responsibilities
- Own the multi-year product vision, target segments, and strategic bets for large-scale adoption.
- Manage the full product lifecycle from definition through go-to-market and iteration.
- Translate officer workflows and communication needs into clear product requirements.
- Own the product roadmap and manage trade-offs across performance, reliability, security, and cost.
- Build direct relationships with agency leaders and officers to ground decisions in customer evidence.
- Partner with engineering, design, hardware, and go-to-market leaders to drive product decisions and field deployments.
- Hire, coach, and lead a team of product managers, setting high standards for written thinking and customer discovery.
- Define and report on key metrics for product success, including adoption, field reliability, and officer trust.
Requirements
- 10+ years in product management with a track record of growing technical product lines combining hardware and software at scale.
- Direct experience shipping both hardware and software products, owning the full device plus platform experience.
- Experience taking a new hardware product from 0 to 1, from concept through launch and market traction.
- 4+ years leading and building product teams, setting strategy that shipped and moved the business.
- Credibility with senior engineering leaders across embedded, firmware, and cloud domains.
- Ability to lead without formal authority, aligning executives, engineering, and external partners.
- Strong written communication skills to clearly document and drive decisions on ambiguous problems.
- Experience with connected devices, communications products, or mission-critical systems is a strong plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
