About the Role
Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking a Middle Office Analyst to support Macro trading products. The Middle Office team ensures the smooth operation of HRT’s post-trade platform, which supports trading across multiple asset classes and geographies. This role involves designing and operating systems and processes for reconciliation with brokers and counterparties, researching corporate actions, maintaining commission programs, and tracking trading costs. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, enjoys operational projects, possesses exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a can-do attitude.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and resolve daily position, trade, and cash discrepancies with external counterparties to support effective book management.
- Identify and implement workflow improvements in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Document complex processes to develop middle office guidelines.
- Onboard new trading into existing technology and platforms.
- Reconcile daily position, cash, and PnL breaks with internal and external parties.
- Research and process applicable corporate actions.
- Maintain and update commission structures across all markets.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of relevant financial markets industry experience, preferably supporting a Macro trading desk.
- Familiarity with CTM, ICELink, Markitwire, or Repo Match is preferred.
- Experience with Python and UNIX operating systems (Linux).
- Experience with SQL and relational databases.
- Excellent cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to take ownership of work and learn from mistakes.
- Ability to debug, analyze, and troubleshoot problems quickly under pressure.
- Comfort working independently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
