About the Role

Lead continuous improvement and safety initiatives related to processes, standard work, and equipment. Identify, define, and implement opportunities to mitigate risk and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Install, validate, and set up process equipment with the latest technology, create work instructions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the design, development, and improvement of manufacturing processes for an assigned area.
  • Analyze product designs for optimal manufacturing methods.
  • Design and test new equipment, processes, procedures, and systems, including developing equipment layouts.
  • Develop and facilitate data-driven process improvements focused on OEE and safety.
  • Develop equipment requirements and specifications to support manufacturing process design.
  • Support the purchase and installation of new equipment for the assigned manufacturing area.
  • Lead and mentor Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to address hindrances to OEE and safety.
  • Evaluate operations and equipment for compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Quantify improvements by measuring impacts on OEE, MUV, Takt, CM, ROI, BOM, MTBF, and WIP reduction.
  • Identify, plan, and facilitate process improvements and strategic capital projects.
  • Support the development and use of plant standards for 5S and visual management.
  • Optimize new systems and upgrades to existing processes and facilities.
  • Provide leadership and technical support for all related processes within the area of responsibility.
  • Actively identify new learning areas and take advantage of learning opportunities.
  • Ensure lessons learned are analyzed and documented.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated industrial/manufacturing engineering experience.
  • 5+ years in process improvement with demonstrated projects and impact.
  • Knowledge and application of improvement tools including PDCA, SMED, 6 Sigma.
  • Passion and drive to continuously improve plant operations.
  • Proven interpersonal & communication skills at all organizational levels.
  • Experience writing SOP and work instructions.
  • Proven & effective facilitation, leadership, mentoring, and training skills.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Willingness to work long hours on the plant floor as needed.
  • Composite extrusion experience (preferred).
  • 2+ years’ experience with Continuous Improvement tools such as lean manufacturing, Kaizen, 6 sigma (preferred).
  • Process-oriented individual with strong experience in DMAIC process, standardization, creating Work Instructions, SOP’s, and implementing SPC (preferred).
  • Knowledge of how various systems interact and how changes affect outcomes (preferred).
  • Basic PLC knowledge (preferred).
  • Strong Project Management skills (preferred).

  • Hiring Pay Range: $80,000 USD - $126,500 USD
