About the Role
Operate fabricating machinery and fabricate a variety of flat and irregular shaped parts for various product lines.
Responsibilities
- Operate various size and types of sheet metal fabricating machinery such as shears, press brakes, punch presses, etc.
- Fabricate a variety of flat and irregular shaped parts for various product lines.
- Remove burrs, sharp corners, etc. from processed parts.
- Using hand truck, Lift truck, or overhead crane to move materials, parts, tools, etc. to and from storage, staging areas, or workstation.
- Obtain first piece inspection.
- Read and interpret measuring devices.
- Perform daily lift truck inspections.
- Follow quality control standards to ensure meeting quality and quantity requirements.
- Make minor adjustments to machine settings and perform general equipment inspection.
- Adhere to established safety rules and policies.
- Notify Supervisor or Safety Director of any unsafe acts or practice stopped.
- Meet quality and production standards.
- Keep work area neat and orderly on a daily basis.
- Keep Supervisor fully informed of any problems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 3 years work experience.
- Possess and demonstrate positive mentoring and leadership qualities.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Participate in training events (ie; Lockout/Tagout; HazCom; and overhead crane training).
- Treat all co-workers with dignity and respect.
- Basic math skills.
- Basic organizational skills.
- Positive attitude towards work and work environment.
