About the Role
Johnson Controls is hiring a Lab Technician for our FRICK manufacturing facility in Waynesboro, PA. This role involves testing semi-hermetic compressors for chiller equipment.
Responsibilities
- Carry out testing as outlined by test requests and criteria defined by Engineering.
- Operate test stand equipment safely.
- Diagnose and correct problems encountered during testing.
- Plan and set up test programs, including pipework, tubing bending, instrumentation calibration, data acquisition system configuration, vacuum pulling, and system charging.
- Diagnose electrical circuitry (DC and AC, single and three-phase).
- Maintain lab function by performing maintenance on test blocks and associated components.
Requirements
- Understanding of the refrigeration cycle and its components (from technical training, education, or hands-on experience).
- Ability to wire motors and drives.
- Understanding of AC and DC circuitry.
- Capability of creating control circuits.
- Maintains a positive attitude and works well with others.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint), as well as Internet software and E-mail.
- Occasionally required to lift no more than 50 pounds.
- Must be a US Citizen and/or Permanent Resident of the United States.
