About the Role

We are building out our Credit Risk function in Ebury’s main Canadian office in Toronto. You will be one of the first analysts dedicated to one of our most important geographies, undertaking thorough and rigorous analysis of SME businesses. This includes assessing their markets, financials, products, activities, and cash headroom modelling. You will prepare submissions for the Credit Committee with analysis and recommendations, contribute to automated risk modelling, and adapt processes to local markets, adding qualitative insight to credit decisions, including granting lines, monitoring them, and pursuing collections.

Responsibilities

Support and report to the Country Head of Credit Risk.
Undertake ad hoc requests from the Head of Credit Risk.
Perform detailed credit analysis of prospects and clients for trade finance and currency trading products, focusing on financials, operations, and trading cycles.
Present and defend analysis at credit committee meetings to senior management, including C-Suite.
Engage closely with other teams, such as front office and operations, to ensure a smooth client experience and clear communication of Credit Risk team decisions.
Manage an existing portfolio of clients, monitoring their credit standing and risk versus reward for Ebury.
Proactively manage your own pipeline of work.
Liaise with managers across other geographies to add insight or assist where necessary.
Share thoughts to improve processes.

Requirements

A background in SME credit underwriting, experience in financial analysis, or a demonstrable understanding of how to assess an entity's creditworthiness.
A clear, structured, and concise communication style with the ability to explain complex concepts coherently.
A solid understanding of Canadian accounting principles.
An understanding of FX markets and associated vanilla products.
An ability to work in Excel in a professional setting.
High level of proficiency in communication in both English and French.
