About the Role
This role ensures all facility operations follow policies and procedures, coordinates daily operations by delegating job assignments, and provides guidance. The Shift Leader provides supervision at an assigned location when the Manager is not present, demonstrating established standards to keep buildings/facilities clean and safe. This role involves operating specialized equipment, handling cleaning chemicals, and supporting general janitorial duties as needed.
Responsibilities
- Follow assigned work schedules and route cards as directed, reporting any barriers.
- Provide leadership and direction to team members.
- Facilitate open communication between field employees and management, monitoring and documenting client communications.
- Assist with creating daily and weekly work schedules.
- Oversee and perform cleaning operations in the assigned building.
- Manage keys and access cards for the property.
- Report damaged, broken, or non-functional features/items.
- Oversee and perform additional service requests (tag job) in the assigned building.
- Oversee job quality and confirm completion with the Area Manager.
- Provide training for all new hires assigned to the building in accordance with onboarding procedures.
- Complete and validate time records for regular or subcontractor employees.
- Check supplies, equipment, and chemicals weekly.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- A high school diploma, GED, or college degree is not required.
- 1 year of similar work experience.
- 1 year of customer service experience.
- 1 year of lead or supervisory experience.
- Valid Driver’s license.
