About the Role
The Avon Group, a division of HarperCollins Publishers, is seeking an Editorial Intern to support the Romance Team. The Avon Group publishes genre fiction titles across romance, women's fiction, sci-fi, and fantasy.
Responsibilities
- Learns about the editorial process.
- Reads and evaluates proposals and manuscripts, writes reader’s reports, researches author track records and comparison titles, and drafts rejection letters.
- Researches trends in editorial content, marketing approaches, and publishing trends.
- Assists with author social media posts/content.
- Prepares manuscripts for production.
- Supports editors with administrative tasks such as mailings, requesting marketing materials, and other in-office duties.
Requirements
- Must be available to work in our NYC office from Monday – Thursday for 28 hours per week, from June 7 – August 12, 2027.
- Must be available to work in a full-time capacity in 2027 or 2028.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
