About the Role

This role involves day-to-day editorial administration for the William Morrow imprint, reporting to two Associate Editors. You will gain hands-on experience in author relations, manuscript evaluation, book launch preparation, copy writing, jacket design, and more, working with editors of prominent fiction and nonfiction titles.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a working understanding of the teams and tasks involved in publication of the William Morrow imprint’s books.
  • Learn publishing software programs and use them to assist in author communications and other departmental functions.
  • Help read and evaluate submissions.
  • Help prepare submissions to literary awards.
  • Help execute administrative functions such as mailings and drafting memos.
  • Contribute to the preparation for the launch of upcoming titles.
  • Attend meetings of interest to get to know editors and other staff.

Requirements

  • Must be available to work in a full-time capacity in 2027 or 2028.
  • Open to rising seniors, recent graduates, master’s students, or entry-level candidates with up to 1 year of work experience.
  • Must be available to work 21 hours per week across 3 or 4 days, from February 8 to April 16, 2027.
