About the Role
The Harper Book Group is seeking a Publicity Intern to work closely with experienced publicists on book launch campaigns across various categories. This role involves supporting the Publicity Department's efforts in connecting books with consumers and authors.
Responsibilities
- Perform general administrative duties, including processing mailings and managing internal databases.
- Conduct media research across platforms like Muckrack, Podchaser, and social media.
- Pull book assets from the internal database.
- Manage and create promotional materials such as press kits, author bios, and book summaries.
- Support Publicity Directors with select media outreach.
- Maintain accurate records of publicity efforts and data entry for media and event bookings.
- Handle author travel arrangements and assist with organizing author media and tour schedules.
- Assist with administrative tasks like scheduling meetings, processing invoices, and tracking expenses.
- Attend internal meetings and select off-site author events.
Requirements
- Must be available to work in the NYC office from Monday – Thursday for 28 hours per week, from June 7 – August 12, 2027.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.

- Must possess strong organizational and communication skills.
- Must be detail-oriented.
- Must exhibit good judgment and exercise discretion.
- Must be able to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize.
