About the Role
As a Director in our Executive Compensation and Board Advisory practice, you will collaborate with top consultants, develop technical knowledge, and manage consulting projects. You will provide input to senior colleagues, oversee junior staff, and potentially lead smaller projects. The role involves projects focused on executive compensation, board effectiveness, and other areas like M&A due diligence and total rewards strategy. Client engagements are typically with the Board committee(s) or senior management. You will also support revenue growth through marketing, research, and intellectual capital development.
Responsibilities
- Deliver effective, consistent project management for multiple, marquee clients.
- Draft statements of work, project plans, and budgets involving multiple workflow streams and client teams.
- Serve as the day-to-day project lead, ensuring team progress against objectives, budget, timeline, deliverables, and quality standards.
- Leverage and manage the work of junior staff, providing coaching and ongoing feedback.
- Act as the key client contact for service delivery, managing client expectations and raising issues to Senior Consultants.
- Collaborate and contribute to the development, design, and implementation of compensation programs, including total rewards strategy, competitive benchmarking, incentive plan design, employment contract review, change-in-control agreements, pay analysis, and pay-for-performance alignment.
- Contribute to the development of new tools and approaches.
- Support new business generation by assisting with business development activities.
- Participate in discovery discussions with prospects and develop/deliver proposals.
- Establish collaborative client relationships to understand their business and issues, informing consulting and expanding WTW’s relationship into new service areas.
- Contribute to WTW’s external visibility through intellectual capital generation, drafting articles, and attending/speaking at conferences.
Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years of design-orientated executive compensation experience in consulting or highly consultative corporate environments, and a genuine interest in this field.
- Experience designing annual, equity, stock, and other long- and short-term incentive programs.
- Working knowledge and understanding of applicable regulatory, legal, tax, and accounting requirements.
- Creative, analytical, and results-driven orientation, demonstrated through the ability to draw conclusions, themes, and trends from data analysis and communicate results effectively.
- Proven experience successfully managing multiple, multi-faceted projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget.
- An executive presence with polished and well-developed communication skills, including experience making presentations and selling ideas to colleagues and management.
- Self-starter attitude and ability to work within ambiguity.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.

- $110,000 CAD - $150,000 CAD per year
- Eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus
