About the Role
As part of the BEW-Projekte realization area, this role supports projects across all phases, managing contracts, scheduling, administration, controlling, construction, and commissioning. Projects are grouped into programs at power plant sites to manage transformation tasks in brownfield environments alongside ongoing operations. The construction tasks are managed by the construction organization, including (senior) construction managers, specialist construction managers, and the construction site office, acting on behalf of the client.
Responsibilities
- Fulfill the duties of a construction manager as defined by §56 of the Berlin Building Code for a transformation program comprising multiple projects at a power plant site.
- Provide technical and methodological leadership to the construction organization within the transformation program, including construction and specialist construction managers, and assess/develop their performance.
- Resolve coordination, interface, and methodology conflicts as an escalation point for project construction organizations to ensure adherence to the transformation roadmap.
- Develop and manage reporting systems for the program director, power plant site, and other BEW control functions of the transformation program.
- Ensure parallel execution of project construction sites and ongoing power plant operations through communication and coordination with site operations and projects.
- Manage internationally operating contractors for complex integrated power plant projects in alignment with client objectives.
- Ensure the construction organization utilizes company-standardized processes, methods, and tools.
- Advise contract managers on technical aspects of claim, change order, and settlement management.
Requirements
- Completed degree in a technical or engineering field.
- German language skills at C2 level and English at B2 level.
- Extensive, long-term experience as a construction manager/senior construction manager in international power plant, infrastructure, or process engineering projects.
- Leadership competence in complex integrated construction services (EPC, GU).
- Strong communication skills, reliability, and integrity.
- High degree of initiative, sense of responsibility, and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, etc.).
- Knowledge of Lean Construction Management.
- Motivation to apply digital methods and tools in construction.
- Willingness to apply for the position if approximately 70% of the requirements are met.
