About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for the operation, further development, and monitoring of backup and recovery solutions in Azure, Azure-Local, and hybrid environments, as well as the protection of workloads and company data in Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, and Azure DevOps.

Responsibilities

Operation, further development, and optimization of backup and recovery solutions in hybrid, cloud, and Azure-Local environments.
Planning, implementation, and operation of data backup and recovery solutions based on Azure Backup, Microsoft Azure Backup Server (MABS), and enterprise backup products.
Ensuring the backup and recovery of workloads in Azure and Azure Local, including virtual machines, storage accounts, databases (MS-SQL and Oracle), and Azure Kubernetes Service.
Responsibility for backing up company data in cloud services such as Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, and Azure DevOps.
Monitoring backup processes, analyzing error cases, and coordinating the resolution of incidents.
Conducting regular backup and restore tests and documenting the results in an audit-proof manner.
Responsibility for monitoring, reporting, and capacity and growth planning of the backup infrastructure.
Continuously developing backup, restore, and disaster recovery concepts and supporting the implementation of compliance and audit requirements.
Actively participating in the further development of our hybrid cloud and Azure-Local platform.

Requirements

Completed degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a comparable qualification.
Professional experience in the operation and administration of backup and recovery solutions.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure Backup Server (MABS).
Experience with Azure Backup for virtual machines, storage accounts, and AKS environments.
Experience in operating and securing workloads on Azure, Azure Local, and hybrid infrastructures in the KRITIS environment.
Experience with at least one enterprise backup solution such as Veeam, HYCU, Rubrik, Commvault, or comparable products.
Knowledge in backing up company data in cloud services, especially Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, and Azure DevOps.
Experience in monitoring backup environments and in capacity, storage, and resource planning.
Knowledge in analyzing and resolving backup, restore, and recovery problems.
Structured and self-reliant way of working.
Fluent German language skills at least at C1 level as the primary working language.
Good English language skills.
