About the Role
A Level I tack welder uses short bursts of heat to create temporary welds between metal joints, working through the same process as full welding but for temporary joints. Responsibilities extend beyond tack welding.
Responsibilities
- Qualified as a tack welder
- Demonstrate safe use of grinders and hand tools
- Tack weld sub-assemblies
- Test products or subassemblies for functionality or quality
- Troubleshoot problems with equipment, devices, or products
- Build product subassemblies or final assemblies
- Prepare and assemble materials
- Set up and operate production equipment/tooling per manufacturing practices and SOPs
- Maintain accurate inventory of job materials
- Provide production, progress, or changeover reports to shift supervisors
- Set up and verify the functionality of safety equipment
- Start up and shut down processing equipment
- Adhere to all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures for health, safety, and environmental compliance
- Clean production equipment or work areas
