About the Role

Our Sydney office has a Casual Paralegal opportunity for a motivated law student to join the Insurance practice. This role offers exposure to first-rate matters and global clients, with opportunities to work on projects both in Australia and internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the day-to-day operations of files and the practice.
  • Conducting research, drafting, and project-specific tasks.
  • Supporting business development initiatives.
  • Attending client meetings.
  • Attending and contributing to matter planning meetings.
  • Preparing file notes, memorandums, and summaries of internal discussions and client meetings.
  • Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of client files.
  • Drafting, analyzing, and interpreting legal documents.
  • Drafting correspondence and emails to clients and other parties.
  • Drafting court documents.
  • Filing of court documents.
  • Undertaking research and preparing summary memorandums.
  • Assisting with the creation and maintenance of bundles/bibles/pleadings or arbitration files.
  • Assisting in developing business development and marketing materials.
  • Performing daily reporting and administration.

Requirements

  • Strong academic credentials with a record of academic achievement.
  • Switched on, self-driven, with excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Excellent ability to follow processes to ensure desired outcomes are achieved.
  • A passion or interest in building a career within a global law firm environment.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to work independently.
