About the Role

We are actively incorporating the latest AI tools, including generative AI, into our daily operations. These tools accelerate our decision-making speed, allowing us to focus on critical judgments and discussions. The primary role of this position is to manage logistics hubs known as Delivery Stations (DS), which are fundamental to Amazon's logistics network. We are continuously expanding our logistics network across Japan, and this role offers a challenging mission within this growth environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage operational processes, including planning and optimizing the sorting and shipping of incoming goods, and planning and reviewing delivery routes.
  • Plan 'which items, when, and with how many people' to sort.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth sorting and delivery operations.
  • Take ownership of delivery timelines and actively propose improvements.
  • Manage and develop staff responsible for sorting, shipping, and delivery, with teams typically numbering in the dozens.
  • Create shifts based on workload and monitor operational progress.
  • Coordinate with assistant staff (2-4 people) for shift adjustments, situation assessment, and instruction.
  • Utilize internal systems for operational management.
  • Drive improvements in safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.
  • Identify issues in workflows, work environments, and tasks based on data and hypotheses.
  • Propose and implement solutions for identified problems.
  • Engage in regular discussions with management regarding operational improvements and provide support.

Requirements

  • Over 5 years of experience in staff guidance or team leadership, regardless of industry.
  • Management experience with 5 or more individuals.
  • A 4-year university degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Basic computer skills (ability to perform arithmetic operations).
  • Business-level Japanese proficiency.
  • Over 3 years of experience in staff guidance or team leadership, regardless of industry.
  • Experience using operational management tools and improving operations using data extracted from systems.
  • Positive attitude towards contributing to an inclusive culture and working in diverse groups.
