About the Role

We are building the Monzo Co-pilot, an intelligent, proactive ally that handles the complexity of users financial life. As a Lead Machine Learning Scientist, you’ll build and ship models that help customers search for and find answers about their financial lives, making it effortless for them to find the right products at the exact moment they need them.

Responsibilities

Develop and deploy advanced ML models to over 15 million customers.
Develop and deploy user and product embeddings to understand customer behaviours.
Develop and deploy contextual bandits for optimising real-time decisions.
Develop and deploy personalised ranking algorithms to improve search and discovery.
Build scalable, explainable, and responsible AI solutions.
Justify and demonstrate the effectiveness of technical approaches.
Ensure approaches meet business and customer needs.

Requirements

Multiple year track record of excellence leading the development and deployment of advanced Machine Learning models to tackle real business problems, preferably in a fast-moving tech company.
Experience developing and shipping state-of-the-art ML models to production and delivering business impact.
Impact driven and excited to own the end-to-end journey from business problem to production solution.
Self-starter mindset; proactively identify issues and opportunities.
Fluent in Python and extensive, hands-on experience with scikit-learn.
Comfortable using SQL.
Keen to learn Go lang.
Comfortable working in a team that deals with ambiguity.
Experience helping teams and stakeholders resolve ambiguity.
Product mindset: care about customer outcomes and make data-informed decisions.
Excited about fast-moving developments in Machine Learning and can communicate ideas to non-experts.
Adaptable, curious, and enjoy learning new technologies and ideas.
