About the Role

This role operates within Corporate Bank Production as a Senior Engineer in the Enterprise SRE division, supporting critical client-facing platforms. The team focuses on continuously improving production stability and client experience through a strong engineering culture.

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and SRE principles to improve service reliability and operational excellence.
  • Establish and enhance monitoring, observability, logging, and alerting systems for deep visibility into system health and performance.
  • Conduct in-depth technical analysis of production platforms to identify, prioritize, and remediate performance, stability, and resilience issues.
  • Explore and partner with teams to prototype and implement AI/ML solutions for production support efficiency, including predictive incident detection, intelligent alerting, automated root cause analysis, and proactive anomaly detection.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) activities and implement preventative measures.
  • Build strong partnerships with global stakeholders across development, infrastructure, and production functions to identify risks, define remediation strategies, and manage change-related conflicts.

Requirements

  • A university degree in a technological or scientific discipline, or equivalent professional experience, preferably within the financial services industry.
  • Extensive, hands-on experience with Production Application Support and ITIL Practices with an SRE knowledge and mindset.
  • Proven ability to build effective partnerships, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Capability to operate successfully within a complex, global organisation.
  • Deep understanding of application Support and/or Development and complex IT infrastructure (UNIX, Database, Middleware, Cloud, Kubernetes, MQ etc.).
  • Experience in application log and performance monitoring tools such as Geneos, Splunk, Grafana and New Relic - leveraging OpenTelemetry (OTEL) to establish End-To-End Monitoring across business flows.
  • Good understanding of recent technologies including cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure), programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Python), databases (Postgres, BigQuery, MongoDB), Messaging (MQ, Kafka) or other solutions.
  • Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
