About the Role
We are seeking an Integrations Engineer to simplify the adoption of our SDK on platforms used by voice agent developers. You will manage plugins and the public interface of language wrappers, ensuring they are released in sync with the core SDK. Your role involves collaborating with upstream open-source maintainers to ensure first-class integrations and working closely with developer relations and customers.
Responsibilities
- Own LiveKit Agents and Pipecat plugins in Python and TypeScript, from design to release.
- Maintain the public API, examples, and packaging of Python, Node.js, and WebAssembly wrappers.
- Contribute to upstream projects and build relationships with their maintainers.
- Own integration documentation, including quickstarts, compatibility matrices, and migration guides.
- Triage integration issues from customers and partners, reproduce them, and fix or route them.
- Integrate new models and features into all integrations as the core SDK ships them.
- Track developer integration methods to identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience in both Python and TypeScript.
- Published and maintained a package on PyPI or npm with external users, including versioning, release notes, and breaking-change management.
- Contributed to an upstream open-source project with merged changes.
- Understanding of real-time audio basics: sample rates, frame sizes, buffering, latency budgets.
- Ability to write documentation that developers find useful and enjoy helping engineers integrate work.
- Comfortable working with a native core codebase and reading Rust and C bindings.
- Daily use of AI coding tools, understanding their benefits and limitations.
- Experience with LiveKit, Pipecat, or other voice agent frameworks is a plus.
- Experience with WebRTC, PyO3 or napi-rs bindings, gRPC or protobuf is a plus.
