About the Role

Responsible for supporting the smooth operation of the In-Room Dining and Executive Lounge day-to-day operations, supporting associates, maintaining a motivated team, driving standards, and maximizing revenue. Assists management and supervisors with additional leadership and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the outlet is prepared and ready for service, following the correct sequence of service and completing closing duties.
  • Follow departmental checklists and Brand Standard Audit points to achieve high guest satisfaction and compliance.
  • Greet all guests and co-workers hospitably, using appropriate language and the guest's name when known.
  • Take orders, serve drinks and food, ensuring guest expectations are exceeded.
  • Engage guests in conversation regarding their stay, property services, and area attractions.
  • Anticipate guests' service needs by asking questions and observing preferences.
  • Deal with guests' issues and problems using the LEARN model, seeking advice when unsure.
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance standards, including department checklists and brand standard audit requirements.
  • Ensure the service of food and drink is timely and consistent.
  • Accurately record and present guest bills, receive payment, and post through Micros, using appropriate cash handling procedures.
  • Recommend and sell to guests through menu knowledge and up-selling techniques.
  • Responsible for the safe keeping of assigned keys and Micros cards, and ensuring areas and stocks are secure at the end of shift.
  • Ensure awareness of guest allergies or dietary requirements and notify the culinary team, preventing cross-contamination.
  • Ensure all food and beverage products are correctly stored, dated, labelled, and rotated.
  • Be mindful of surroundings, manage equipment correctly and safely, and protect company assets.
  • Adhere to Licensing Laws, Weights and Measures Act, and all food handling guidelines.
  • Promote awareness of health and safety, including fire safety and trip hazards.
  • Follow company and department safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Maintain the highest level of cleanliness, cleaning as you go.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management.
  • Complete safety training and certifications.
  • Employ correct manual handling procedures.
  • Ensure COSHH guidelines are adhered to and relevant PPE is worn.
  • Protect the privacy and security of co-workers and guests, maintaining confidentiality.
  • Carry out any other duty/function assigned by management.
  • Maintain a high standard of grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards, ensuring name badge is worn.
  • Support all co-workers and treat them with dignity and respect.
  • Develop and maintain healthy inter-departmental relationships and support the team.
  • Comply with Marriott International Hotels Limited regional office and hotel policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working within a F & B environment.
  • Previous experience working in luxury and/or high-volume operations preferred.
