About the Role

This role involves supporting older and vulnerable residents in Newham's Sheltered Housing schemes to live independently. You will work in a demanding yet rewarding environment, maintaining high standards and ensuring regular weekend work and flexibility across schemes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and assistance to enable residents to live independently.
  • Ensure the highest standards are maintained within the sheltered housing environment.
  • Work regular weekend shifts (at least twice per month).
  • Work from any of the 6 schemes and cover leave requirements.
  • Communicate with a wide range of stakeholders including residents, staff, and external agencies.
  • Use various computer-based systems daily.
  • Prepare and maintain up-to-date support plans and other relevant documents for residents.

Requirements

  • Experience of working with or caring for vulnerable older people and those living with a long-term condition or a disability is essential.
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders including residents, staff and external agencies.
  • Required to undertake a Basic Adults DBS check.
