About the Role
Our water resources team delivers projects for domestic and international private and public sector clients, focusing on Dams and Reservoirs, water supply systems, and flood risk management. We offer a flexible hybrid working model and a comprehensive benefits package. You will work alongside experienced engineers, developing skills within a positive culture that supports learning and development.
Responsibilities
- Design projects using CAD software, producing calculations, and performing design tasks.
- Support project management through research, data gathering, and report preparation.
- Conduct site visits for practical experience, including surveys, inspections, and shadowing engineers.
- Collaborate and communicate with clients, contractors, and other professionals on project requirements, progress, and challenges.
Requirements
- BEng in Civil or Civil and Environmental Engineering Degree with a 2:1 classification (or equivalent).
- MEng in Civil or Civil and Environmental Engineering related MSc is an advantage.
- Water-related modules are an advantage.
- Relevant work experience is an advantage.
- Enthusiastic, hard-working, technically proficient, with ambition and drive.
- Basic computer skills essential (Word/Excel).
- Good report writing skills are beneficial.
- Willing and able to work towards professional qualifications such as ICE & CIWEM.
- Demonstrable interest in water projects.
- Capability to satisfy client and business expectations and consider wider financial and commercial implications.
- Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing, to internal and external clients.
- Ability to structure and prioritize work effectively through cooperation with the team.
- Ability to work independently without losing initiative and focus.
- Permanent right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship not offered).
- Must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location.
