About the Role
Drive the Canadian product strategy for course materials across assigned portfolios, developing and delivering roadmaps that meet market needs and align with commercial and strategic priorities. This role focuses on digital assets and learning platforms, author management, and collaboration with various internal teams using market insights.
Responsibilities
- Produce agreed-upon portfolio roadmaps for the Canadian higher education market, outlining short-, mid-, and long-term vision and priorities.
- Manage approximately 15-20 product revisions at various stages of completion.
- Own author and subject matter expert relationships, including compensation, contract negotiations, succession planning, and release planning.
- Acquire and manage new authors and subject matter experts to create innovative products.
- Drive growth through financial/P&L decisions, efficient resource allocation, and strong execution.
- Analyze financial, usage, and research data to understand market trends and product performance.
- Develop creative new ways to leverage McGraw Hill’s content, platforms, and authoring tools for growth.
- Run customer-facing activities to ensure products meet market pedagogical requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- 3–5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in EdTech and/or educational publishing.
- Proven track record of successfully executing large projects.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Self-driven, entrepreneurial approach.
- Curiosity about content, education, and technology, including AI.
- Proven ability to build effective relationships with authors, customers, and cross-functional partners.
- Customer-facing experience is a plus.
- Strong commercial and business acumen.
- Ability to use data to understand how product and resource decisions affect portfolio performance and P&L.
- Ability and willingness to work onsite one day per week.
- Ability and willingness to travel occasionally within Canada and the U.S.
