About the Role
This position focuses on managing product categories, primarily in food and daily necessities. Responsibilities include strategic planning, optimizing product assortment for new and seasonal items, product development, and maximizing sales and profits. The role also aims to enhance customer convenience and satisfaction through efficient operations, strategic product sourcing, sales planning using web tools, and promotional activities including branding.
Responsibilities
- Set and manage sales and profit targets for assigned product categories.
- Develop and implement sales strategies based on sales data and market trends, and make necessary improvements.
- Identify, develop, and optimize sourcing partners and terms.
- Establish and strengthen partnerships with distributors and manufacturers through effective communication.
- Plan and execute web-based promotion plans with relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as business management, inventory control, web production, seller business, and marketing to achieve efficiency and quality.
- Participate in and contribute to various projects, leading or as a member.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above.
- 3+ years of experience with Excel.
- 4+ years of experience in retail, operations, product or program management, or business management/consulting, including negotiations and delivering results.
- Experience with financial analysis and P&L ownership.
- Business-level fluency in Japanese (N1+), including speaking, writing, and reading.
- Experience managing large data sets to drive performance and process improvements.
- Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and product development.
- Experience using English communication skills, both written and verbal, to foster seamless interaction with stakeholders at all levels.
