About the Role
A Pipeline TD develops and maintains software tools, provides front-line support to artists, and troubleshoots the CG pipeline in a feature film visual effects production environment to ensure artist efficiency. This role involves taking daily task priorities from Show CG Supervisors and receiving technical guidance from the Pipeline TD Manager.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and document pipeline tools and scripts to meet show demands and facility-wide standards.
- Provide front-line support for artists and troubleshoot production workflow issues, escalating complex problems when necessary.
- Test and validate software updates and technical workflows in production, collaborating with Engineering teams for smooth deployment.
- Collaborate with artists, supervisors, and technical staff across global ILM locations on show work and pipeline improvements.
- Take direction from Supervisors and Leads to prioritize daily tasks of moderate complexity, meeting show objectives and expanding knowledge of core pipeline systems.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining tools for computer graphics.
- 0–2 years of production experience in visual effects or animation (or equivalent project experience).
- Clear communication skills with the ability to collaborate across disciplines and translate technical issues for non-technical users.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach to troubleshooting.
