About the Role

This role reports to the EMEA and Bermuda Life Consulting Leader and will shape the future of life actuarial consulting in EMEA. It is a key part of Aon’s Strategy and Technology group (STG) with ambitious growth plans. The role offers a unique opportunity to deliver transaction advisory projects for Life insurers, helping clients thrive in a competitive global market.

Responsibilities

Build and scale a market-leading actuarial M&A proposition to generate new revenue.
Own deal origination, shape deal strategy, and lead multidisciplinary delivery.
Conduct buy-side/sell-side due diligence covering reserves, capital, pricing, asset/liability risks, and model risk.
Perform valuations, including embedded value approaches, Solvency II own funds, and IFRS 17 impact assessments.
Advise on and implement deal structuring, including reinsurance solutions and capital optimization.
Advise on regulatory and restructuring activities, such as Part VII transfers, FPPP requirements, approvals, and integration readiness.
Assess and communicate synergies and integration opportunities, including operating model, data, systems, and governance.
Develop new client relationships, liaise with existing clients, and leverage relationships to generate revenue.
Develop and support other Life actuarial consulting propositions by identifying cross-selling opportunities.
Develop technology solutions to solve client problems.
Develop internal network at Aon.
Be agile and flexible to ensure team support.

Requirements

Proven Director-level origination and delivery track record in the UK Insurance industry.
Strong relationships across the UK Life Insurance industry and Bermuda (preferable but not essential).
Strong leadership skills: act as a senior leader, coach team members, set quality standards, and build capability in transaction advisory.
Life actuarial M&A background acquired in an actuarial consultancy or (re)insurance company or similar.
Strong understanding of the UK Life Insurance market and M&A landscape, with willingness to apply principles globally.
High performing, self-motivated team player who leads and works collaboratively.
Ability to work under pressure, take initiative, be proactive, show resolve, and adapt to evolving situations.
Ability to sponsor/shape modelling automation and analytics (e.g., Python/R/SQL/Alteryx/Power BI).
