About the Role
Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector to join our Construction Engineering & Inspection team in New York State. Our team oversees project construction from pre-construction through finalization, ensuring cost and schedule containment. We work on diverse projects including heavy highway, bridges, water/wastewater transmission, and more, while fostering positive community relations.
Responsibilities
- Perform construction inspection of bridge and/or highway projects, including quantity measurement and calculation.
- Document work through daily reports, photos, and sketches.
- Oversee and coordinate documentation of construction inspections.
- Ensure work complies with NYDOT specifications.
- Apply project plans, company policies, guidelines, standards, and specifications to the work.
- Maintain project documentation and communicate with all project levels.
- Coordinate project site activities and resolve work-related issues.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED required.
- 5+ years of construction engineering/inspection experience required.
- NICET Certification (or equivalent) required.
- Valid US driver's license required.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English for job-related communications and instructions.
Skills
- ACI and NETTCP concrete inspector certification preferred.
- NETTCP paving certification preferred.
- Expertise in federally aided transportation projects as a construction inspector preferred.
- Experience working with/for NYDOT and/or municipal clients.
