About the Role
The Environmental Advisor provides guidance and expertise on environmental regulations and sustainability practices for projects. They assess potential environmental impacts, develop compliance strategies, and recommend measures to minimize environmental harm.
Responsibilities
- Identifying and implementing initiatives that position the Project as a leader in Environmental practices.
- Auditing, amending, and implementing the Construction Environmental Management Plan.
- Providing sound and timely technical advice, training, and assistance to the project.
- Supporting the Environment Manager in developing, implementing, and delivering training packages.
- Supporting the Environment Manager and design team in reviewing Environmental Design Deliverables.
- Supporting the Environment Manager and the Commercial Team in sub-contractor scope developments and pre-qualifications.
- Maintaining positive and outcome-driven relationships with key project team members, including Client representatives and senior project management and supervision teams.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in relevant environmental roles within the Civil Construction industry.
- Sound understanding of NSW Environmental Legislation with proven ability to review and interpret relevant legislation, standards, codes of practice, and contractual requirements.
- Demonstrated ability in developing and interpreting project-related documents, preparing reports, and monitoring compliance documentation.
- Good personal time management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage assigned workload.
- Must hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent).
- Must undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencement.
- Evidence of tertiary qualifications and proof of right to work will be required prior to successful appointment.

About the Company
- HumeLink West Project is being delivered by UGL and CPB Contractors for Transgrid.
- HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project connecting Wagga Wagga, Maragle, and Bannaby in regional NSW, significantly increasing the capacity of Australia's eastern states' electricity network.
- It is one of Australia's largest energy infrastructure projects, involving approximately 365kms of new transmission lines and other infrastructure upgrades.
- The HumeLink West scope includes 130kms of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines, a new substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai, and a new substation at Maragle for future connection to Snowy 2.0.
