About the Role
This role is responsible for preparing spot quotes, updating customer rate tariffs, and coordinating pricing efforts to ensure timely and accurate rate requests are completed, contributing to successful decision-making in a competitive pricing environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepares spot quotes efficiently with a high chance of success.
- Utilizes pricing tools to prepare professional quotes aligned with company strategy.
- Performs data entry for quote accuracy and status reporting.
- Maintains awareness of the time-sensitive nature of quote preparation and submission.
- Collaborates with the Product team to incorporate carrier cost changes into customer Tariffs.
- Updates Tariffs accurately and in a timely manner using Excel.
- Executes assigned quote requests within established timeframes using approved quoting tools.
- Coordinates pricing efforts with Product Managers for specialized requests.
- Creates backup documentation for each quote on SharePoint for client bookings.
- Coordinates with Sales, Operations, carriers, agents, and customers to ensure timely rate requests.
- Follows up on requests and escalates issues with non-responsive parties.
- Manages all requests within predefined timeframes.
- Communicates decision reasoning to Sales and Operations to maintain strong relationships.
- Proactively seeks information from Product Management and analyzes data from source systems.
- Records completed rate requests on the Pricing SharePoint site.
- Maintains current pricing rates and validates information in the pricing database system.
- Ensures accurate information and adherence to established processes.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Manager.
- Initiates and proposes ideas for departmental service improvement.
- Contributes to the development of an improved pricing strategy in Canada.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of College required.
- CIFFA/CITT required or equivalent business-related course, preferably with a focus in International Supply Chain/Logistics or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Internal Pricing in a reputed Transportation and Brokerage firm.
- Prior experience with Spot Quote preparations is required.
- In-depth knowledge of trade terms (Incoterms 2010) is required.
- Proficiency in Excel for accurate data-entry is crucial.
- Solid knowledge of Import and Export process.
