About the Role
This is an entry-level food service position involving manual and heavy labor tasks in connection with the operation of Central Kitchen, Middle and High Schools. May assist Food Service truck drivers with daily deliveries. Works under direct supervision.
Responsibilities
- Carries supplies to and from storeroom
- Washes pots and pans
- Operates kitchen appliances and equipment
- Receives early deliveries and puts milk in lowerators
- Helps cook with heavy lifting
- Keeps freezer and refrigerators in order
- Sweeps and mops floors in kitchen, store room, walk-in freezer and refrigerator
- Cleans behind serving counter of faculty and student lunchrooms
Requirements
- Some knowledge of the proper methods of the care of kitchen appliances
- Ability to lift heavy weights
- Willingness to perform routine, recurring manual tasks
