About the Role

This role is an opportunity for an experienced marketing leader to shape the marketing vision for Perkins&Will's Southern California practice, influencing market positioning, storytelling, and client connections. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and hands-on executor, passionate about design and a trusted partner to leadership teams.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Studio MOD and Practice leadership to create a responsive, innovative, and competitive strategic marketing program.
  • Oversee the marketing budget, resources, and staff, fostering a marketing culture that supports staff growth, business promotion, sales value, and networking.
  • Work closely with Pursuit Champions and Practice Leaders to determine market strategy on proposals and presentations, actively participating in planning and strategy.
  • Engage in shortlist interview preparation to drive strategy.
  • Direct the strategy and development of content for RFQ and RFP responses, overseeing the project pursuit process and schedule.
  • Maintain and provide support on marketing information systems, including HUB Pipeline, Pipeline Health, and other studio and firmwide reports.
  • Develop comprehensive research for marketing and business development activities in collaboration with Practice Leaders.
  • Oversee the development and distribution of collateral marketing materials.
  • Direct social media and public relations initiatives with the Regional Communications Specialist to maximize external brand identity.
  • Oversee marketing metrics, including sales reports and competitor analysis.
  • Track leads and responses, communicating key follow-up items to relevant leadership.
  • Maintain familiarity with industry trade organizations, publications, conferences, and events.
  • Collect current and relevant press for marketing and communication efforts.
  • Actively participate in or outreach to relevant local or national industry groups to cultivate business relationships and gather intelligence.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends and developments in the Practices and Markets for the studio.
  • Compose, develop, evaluate, and conduct training on marketing activities, strategies, and policies.
  • Support the growth of team members.
  • Express curiosity about the world of design and the industry at large.
  • Take increasing ownership on tasks within project teams and studio activities.
  • Maintain open and proactive communication within the team.
  • Communicate ideas and thoughts in a way that inspires others.
  • Coordinate effectively and participate in client and consultant communications and meetings.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategies that win work and drive revenue growth.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign required.
  • Familiarity with Illustrator and PhotoShop preferred.
  • Familiarity with Deltek.
