Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain methods, operation sequence, and processes for fabricating parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies.
- Lead manufacturing engineering related projects.
- Interface with other engineering functions to coordinate the release of product improvements and/or new products.
- Drive manufacturing engineering ePLC deliverables.
- Launch, release, approve, and implement engineering change requests to support design engineering and floor operations.
- Estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards, and recommend tooling and process requirements.
- Lead teams in the use of DFx principles to reduce product costs and improve delivered product quality.
- Develop and use test procedures, including assisting with test specifications with design/software engineering.
- Work with test engineering on the design and development of test fixtures.
- Assist in coordinating test fixture sourcing activities.
- Determine root cause analysis for issues during assembly and/or test of systems and drive corrective actions.
- Provide failure analysis reports as required.
- Evaluate work methods, procedures, and policies.
- Develop and maintain new business processes and edit as necessary to ensure current practices are documented.
- Mentor and train lower-level engineers.
- Coordinate outsourcing activities with external/internal suppliers.
- Perform Process Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis when working with New Product Development.
Requirements
- Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines.
- Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others.
- Is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
- Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
- Impacts a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams.
- Works within broad guidelines and policies.
- Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus.
- Etch engineering experience is highly desired.
