About the Role

The Senior Portfolio Manager role spans two functions: Principal Finance, responsible for acquiring and managing mortgage and loan portfolios, and Capital Markets, providing enterprise-wide leadership in structuring, financing, and strategy implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to building a pipeline of whole loan portfolio acquisitions.
  • Lead the origination and execution of new whole loans transactions end-to-end.
  • Conduct investment due diligence.
  • Structure and price transactions.
  • Perform cashflow modelling and scenario analysis.
  • Manage external stakeholders including originators, servicers, funders, and rating agencies.
  • Prepare investment papers for internal approvals.
  • Manage transaction legal documentation.
  • Build and maintain relationships with issuers, banks, and counterparties.
  • Actively contribute to portfolio construction for the Principal Finance strategy.
  • Manage existing investments, including compliance with covenants and risk limits.
  • Monitor investment performance and drive amendments or restructures.
  • Design and implement upgrades to the internal operational framework for execution efficiency and reporting.
  • Provide structuring and funding insight for portfolio- and deal-level decision-making.
  • Design efficient structures and financing packages.
  • Act as a senior representative for the team.
  • Support and develop talent within the team.
  • Collaborate with ANZ and Offshore ABS teams.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders across Legal, Credit Risk, Finance, Compliance, and Operations.
  • Ensure structuring, financing, and strategy implementation activities meet governance frameworks and risk limits.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to uplift risk governance activities.

Requirements

  • 10 years+ of experience across structured credit or asset-backed finance markets.
  • Strong understanding of securitised credit, mortgage lending, and consumer credit asset classes.
  • Deep network and relationships across Australian non-banks and banks.
  • Highly numerate with advanced financial modelling skills.
  • Ability to quickly interpret data/figures.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with corporate regulatory environments, governance principles, and risk management within an investment management context.
