About the Role

This role supports the strategy, governance, and operational excellence behind AI, data, and quantitative research at Barclays. You will facilitate the onboarding and coordination of external AI and data vendors, partner with Data Science and Quantitative teams on proof-of-concept programs, and advocate for research innovation infrastructure. The position also involves supporting structured data product development, organizing research outputs, and ensuring oversight of data usage and access.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business and senior leadership to develop and implement business strategies.
  • Act as a liaison between different business units and functions.
  • Manage and coordinate strategic initiatives, projects, and change management efforts.
  • Improve operational efficiency by identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices.
  • Develop performance reporting for key metrics.
  • Assist in financial planning, forecasting, and monitoring financial performance.
  • Support business heads in hiring, workforce planning, and managing employee lifecycle actions in partnership with HR.
  • Advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and take responsibility for operational effectiveness.
  • Lead a team, set objectives, coach employees, and conduct performance appraisals.
  • Lead collaborative assignments and guide team members.
  • Identify new directions for assignments and projects.
  • Consult on complex issues and support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies/procedures.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls.
  • Perform work that requires understanding of how different areas coordinate to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate with other areas to stay updated on business activity and strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources to solve problems creatively.
  • Communicate complex information effectively.

  • Support the onboarding and coordination of external AI and data vendors.
  • Partner with Data Science and Quantitative teams to oversee proof-of-concept programs.
  • Advocate for the infrastructure that enables research innovation.
  • Support the development and guidance of structured data products.
  • Organize research outputs such as models, signals, and datasets.
  • Ensure robust oversight of data usage, entitlements, and client access.
  • Ensure research data and insights are governed, packaged, and distributed efficiently to maximize business impact.

Requirements

  • Ample evaluative and organizational skills, with the ability to synthesize information and ensure priorities effectively.
  • Remarkable attention to detail, particularly in tracking, reporting, data management, and governance-related activities.
  • Confirmed ability to guide multiple workstreams simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data evaluation, reporting, and presentation development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of sell-side research and financial services industry practices.
