About the Role
The MSIP Silicon Validation team is seeking validation engineering interns to work on cutting-edge wireline technologies. Interns will contribute to the validation of High-Speed SerDes and Die-to-Die IP Prototypes critical for Qualcomm products, with no prior silicon validation background required.
Responsibilities
- Characterize analog blocks and perform PHY/Link Layer/Protocol compliance against industry standards such as PCIe, Ethernet, and UCIe.
- Bring up silicon, debug issues, present test results, and generate validation reports.
- Define test plans and develop test methodologies for various tests.
- Develop and standardize test scripts for various tests and automate test equipment.
- Determine equipment and accessories needs for various tests.
- Study signal integrity and power integrity for evaluation boards and silicon.
- Develop and automate a robotic handler for regression and volume validation.
- Develop scripts to automate data analysis.
Requirements
- Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and multimeters.
- Relevant academic or personal project experience.
- Relevant industry experience (internship, summer work, or others).
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Perl, TCL, Shell).
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- In study towards a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering Science, Computer Science, or related field.
- For 16-month internships: must be available May/June 2027 - August/September 2028.
- Expected graduation date of November 2028 or later.
- 1+ years of academic experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Python, etc.
