About the Role

AWS is seeking a sales leader to build and own the go-to-market strategy for AWS across Telecommunications customers in Australia. This leadership role offers the scope to shape AWS's presence in a significant industry vertical, driving cloud and AI adoption within complex, regulated, and infrastructure-intensive organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of enterprise sales professionals focused on accelerating AWS adoption across Telecommunications in Australia.
  • Engage C-suite and senior technology leaders across tier-1 carriers, mobile and fixed-line operators, wholesale network providers, tower companies, and adjacent infrastructure businesses.
  • Shape large-scale cloud, network modernisation, and AI programs.
  • Define the go-to-market strategy for Telecommunications, including investment areas, positioning, use cases, and pipeline development.
  • Understand the regulatory landscape and its impact on customer decisions regarding cloud adoption, AI usage, network architecture, and operational resilience.
  • Hire and develop senior sales talent.
  • Create an operating rhythm that drives accountability and fosters a positive team culture.
  • Build and maintain durable commercial relationships that compound over time.
  • Articulate the business value of cloud and AI to both technology and business leaders.
  • Represent AWS as a credible voice in the market, including presenting at industry events and engaging with media.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of enterprise sales and business development experience in technology, with a significant portion spent selling into telecommunications.
  • Experience building new businesses and driving adoption of cloud or AI technologies at scale.
  • Understanding of how telcos buy, build, and operationalise technology, including network investment cycles, vendor consolidation dynamics, and the relationship between technology decisions and regulatory obligations.
  • Ability to engage in credible conversations with C-suite stakeholders about network modernisation, resilience, customer experience, AI strategy, and total cost of ownership.
  • Proven track record of managing complex, multi-year customer relationships.
  • Experience building high-performing sales organisations and exceeding revenue targets through clear strategy and disciplined execution.
  • Experience navigating regulated, infrastructure-critical environments involving security reviews, network architecture approvals, partner dynamics, and multi-stakeholder governance.
  • Ability to understand network architectures, data platforms, edge computing, and AI capabilities to connect them to business outcomes.
  • Strong executive presence with experience building relationships at CEO, CTO, CIO, and board level.
