About the Role
The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking an experienced, innovative, and clinically grounded leader to join the Outpatient Mental Health and Specialty Care Program as an Advanced Practice Clinical Leader (APCL). This role is key in advancing clinical excellence, professional practice, quality improvement, and system transformation across outpatient services. The APCL will promote high-quality, equitable, and recovery-oriented care while supporting evidence-informed practices and optimizing care pathways.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a clinical expert, mentor, and change leader.
- Provide consultation and support in complex clinical situations.
- Foster excellence in assessment, treatment planning, risk management, and transitions of care.
- Strengthen clinical capability through mentorship, coaching, and professional development.
- Support the development of clinical standards.
- Promote measurement-based care.
- Cultivate a culture of continuous learning, reflective practice, and interprofessional collaboration.
- Lead and contribute to quality improvement, patient safety, and practice transformation initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and drive meaningful change across services using data, outcomes measurement, research, and knowledge translation.
- Build partnerships and collaborate across programs, sectors, and communities to advance integrated care, improve patient and family experiences, and champion equitable, inclusive, and culturally safe care.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in a regulated health profession.
- Member in good standing with the applicable regulatory college.
- Minimum of five years of progressive clinical experience in mental health and addictions.
- Advanced expertise in evidence-based assessment and treatment.
- Experience delivering and supporting psychotherapies such as CBT, DBT, ACT, and IPT.
- Ability to provide clinical supervision for the controlled act of psychotherapy.
- Ability to support the development of clinician competencies.
- Eligibility for a cross-appointment with the University of Toronto.
- Recognized clinical leader with experience advancing professional practice.
- Experience leading quality improvement initiatives.
- Experience implementing evidence-informed care within interprofessional healthcare settings.
- Strong skills in clinical consultation, mentorship, coaching, and team-based supervision.
- Demonstrated commitment to scholarship, research, and knowledge translation.
- Experience in program development, evaluation, student supervision, and academic activities.
- Extensive knowledge of best practices in the assessment and treatment of individuals with complex mental health and substance use concerns.
- Knowledge of risk assessment, crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, recovery-oriented practice, and family engagement.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and culturally safe care.
- Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in another language is considered an asset.
