About the Role
As a Relationship Officer at HSBC, you will provide a high level of service to clients, manage the account opening process, facilitate client visitations, and maintain Know Your Customer (KYC) data. You will also support sales teams by positioning and delivering financial solutions, building trust through real-time problem-solving, and leveraging knowledge of private banking products and markets.
Responsibilities
- Assist with input of details to client database and monitor periodic review reports.
- Work with Relationship Managers (RMs) to ensure timely client contact.
- Collect required information and documentation from clients.
- Complete profiles on internal KYC databases, including client and account profiles, new account approval forms, and visitation forms.
- Partner with RMs to direct client engagement and service day-to-day banking needs.
- Accompany Relationship Managers on customer meetings to provide information on account opening requirements and product information.
- Work with Operations, Compliance, and internal product partner teams to facilitate account opening approvals.
- Adapt to complex scenarios, everyday challenges, and regulations affecting the area of responsibility.
- Understand, follow, and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Adhere strictly to compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC and regulatory standards, policies, and practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
- Mandarin and Cantonese language skills (written and spoken) required.
- Strong experience in private banking or equivalent high net worth client experience.
- Client-focused with strong problem-solving and relationship-building skills.
- Sound judgment, keen sense of urgency, and high level of professional and personal integrity.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Strong knowledge of regulations affecting the area of responsibility.
- Excellent understanding of financial markets and products.
