About the Role
Hot Topic is seeking a Store Manager to lead their store in achieving sales targets, recruiting, development, and performance management. The ideal candidate will be a retail maverick focused on developing talent and providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the store achieves sales plan and/or comp sales goals.
- Recruit, develop, and retain a collaborative and passionate team.
- Create customer engagement through social media, store web applications, and clienteling.
- Lead an operationally sound business by balancing structure, delegation, and customer-first selling.
- Monitor shrink/loss prevention, payroll hours, schedules, and external business factors.
- Communicate trends and customer feedback with retail leadership and HQ.
- Utilize sales reports and data to guide strategy and hit sales targets.
- Adapt to new technologies, communicate company policies, and manage supply ownership.
- Merchandise the store effectively, leveraging planograms and launching promotions on time.
- Develop staff through mentorship, recognition, and feedback.
Requirements
- At least 1-2 years of retail store management experience.
- Experience leading teams to success.
- Skills in communication, recruiting, and operations (payroll, reporting, scheduling, merchandising).
- Ability to navigate the store, merchandise product, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Adaptability to a fast-changing retail industry.
- Open-mindedness and inquisitiveness regarding pop culture and music trends.
