About the Role
Shape secure, reliable and intuitive mobile experiences within the CommBank app. Influence architecture and engineering practices while mentoring talented engineers. Build with Swift, SwiftUI, modern mobile architecture, cloud services and continuous delivery.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver high-quality native iOS solutions using Swift and SwiftUI.
- Help shape mobile architecture, engineering standards and the technical roadmap.
- Make considered design and architectural decisions that balance customer experience, security, reliability and maintainability.
- Collaborate with product owners, engineers and technical leaders to translate customer needs into practical solutions.
- Build well-tested, observable and maintainable software using automated testing and continuous delivery practices.
- Integrate mobile applications with APIs, backend services and cloud-based technology.
- Contribute across the full engineering lifecycle, from design and development through to production operation.
- Mentor engineers, strengthen team capability and promote effective engineering practices.
Requirements
- Experienced iOS engineer with strong hands-on development capability and sound technical judgement.
- Clear communication and effective collaboration skills.
- Comfortable influencing engineering decisions and supporting engineer growth.
- Deep native iOS development experience using Swift and SwiftUI.
- Strong knowledge of mobile architecture, including MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture and modular design.
- Experience with dependency injection, object-oriented design, SOLID principles and established software design patterns.
- Delivery of secure and reliable mobile applications supported by automated testing, continuous delivery and production observability.
- Experience integrating REST or GraphQL APIs and working with cloud services such as AWS.
- Ability to lead technical decisions, constructively challenge existing approaches and build support for strategic engineering direction.
- Experience mentoring engineers and improving capability, quality and engineering practices across teams.
- Exposure to backend development, including .NET, C# or microservices, regulated technology environments, AI or machine learning is valuable.
